sorry - Im sure this is the wrong thread, but cannot see where else to put it. It's just a quickie really - but I am going to cook boiled ham for dinner tomorrow but I'd like to cook it in the slow cooker because I am out for most of the morning. Do I need to cover the whole ham with fluid, or just a small amount of liquid? I was going to put it in at 8am to be ready for lunch.....Ta

I did boiled ham in the SC a couple of weeks ago - it was delish! I put in in on about 8am on low, couple of inches of water and left it for 5 hrs or so.

Boiled Ham is on page 150 -
after cooking ham, if it still has skin on, I like to roll in breadcrumbs and brown sugar and roast quickly in a hot oven
( the meat shreds more than cuts unlkess with an electric knife,
also good is a leg of lamb coated with sdome mint sauce and a little water and slow cooked, and brisket is just perfect ( roadt off for 1/2 hr at end to finish
