Hiya, hope someone can help with this stupid question...
I have defrosted a piece of meat believing it was lamb but it actually also could be beef... The colour is not really helping and nor is the smell... Dinner will be different depending on what meat it is and I dont really want to cook it to find out...
Does anybody out there have tips on how to identify what it could be?
Thanks in advance...

            Hi catseyes,
I agree with jackie, cut a sliver off, fry it for a few seconds and taste it.

Always label stuff for the freezer;) Could have been worse though. Butterscotch sauce and chicken gravy look identical when frozen. Ask me how I know 0 0

The disappointing meals (when labels fall off) are just gravy when you were sure it was a nice casserole......plan B!One day I might be more organised...........
