The Asda offer is no quibble - it doesn't matter how many times George has played football. They trialled it last year with school clothes and out of sales of £9million they had £900 worth returned. It would appear that most people aren't chisellers who will take advantage. More here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2010/mar/07/asda-launch-returns-policy I would hope that if someone is abusing it, and there will be someone, somewhere abusing it, they get told not to buy any more of these clothes which they are not satisfied with.
I am sorry but this figure has to be the biggest pile of fluff I have ever heard.
£9,000,000 sales - returns £900!!!
I am almost certain that there is NO retailer that sells £9 MILLION worth of stuff and has only £900 worth of returns. It is actually impossible.
Any retailer selling £9,000,000 worth of goods WILL have unhappy customers a lot more than 1% - which this figure is a lot LESS than!!0 -
Back to the OP. Hi Tec squash shoes are very good sizing and quality.
Please add your finds in terms of quality, sizing and overall satisfaction.0 -
New Look - good sizing, really comfy, even the cheap jeans (£10) have decent stretch and a decent cut (is sat in a pair now)
Primark - good for one season things - summer tops, jeggings, etc. Do stretch a bit so be careful.
Asda - the t-shirts shrink in the wash! Bought an 18 and it shrank smaller than some of my other tops!** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

RIVER ISLAND for jeans and footwear! They are fantastic quality for the price, look more expensive than they are, and 99% of the footwear is leather (oh and comfortable too, always a bonus!). I used to work there and the amount of things we had to reduce because they simply started falling apart (before even leaving the store!) was shocking. This was mainly things embellished with sequins/studs/etc. but also just the seams of some things. It's pretty much overpriced for everything else.0

I am a little confused about this post cos in one breath you are rating their stuff and in the next criticising the quality becuase "they simply started falling apart (before even leaving the store!) was shocking".
So is it good or poor?0 -
River Island for jeans { normally sale ones } They do long / short and regular lenghts ..so being a short leg I find these great along with Topshop ones also .
Primark can be hit and miss but are cheap and cheerful : good for everyday casual wear , underwear is nice while it last like their Gel Bras are good at £6 but the knickers all fray at the back when you have only worn them a few times
Nike are good for sportswear and trainers { cant beat a good old pair of air max trainers }
Henleys Tops Looks good but one wash and the logos have faded
Firetrap Lasts years on their tops but the jeans always seem too huge on the sizing
Childrens clothes
Next has got to be the best for everyday wear at reasonable prices and they wash well and they change their styles regulary so great in the sales to .:D
Marks & Spencers for school uniforms especially , their clothes range is very long lasting and wash well , along with their underwear , you get what you pay for
Debenhams is good quality with their John Rocha and Butterfly range , a bit dearer than next but hard wearing . They dont always wash well thow
Kickers are hard wearing and go with any clothing , their sizes are good and great for kids activitiesEbay Bag A Day Challenge 2012- :staradmin
*£10 a Day Febuary Challenge £ 66.23 / £290 £2 savers#131
Crazy Clothes Challenge Me £3.99/ £200 Dd £16 /£200

Next seems to be sized for peculiar shaped beings - trousers are too tight at the tops of the thighs yet the waists are so enormous, you can take them on and off without undoing them (however, age 16 childrenswear is a great fit!)
Hobbs - everything is fantastic. Monsoon - embelishments fall off very easily which is not good when you have spent £180 on a dress.
Second that about Next, when i get jeans from them, yes they fit everywhere but the waist which is huge.
M and S, quality has gone down in recent years, had to return a polo neck last year as it had big hole in after 2 months and I bought slippers from there in February and took them back last week to exchange them as another hole had developed.
Their pants have also decreased in quality and the again the sizing seems to have gone hay wire. I have size 10 in their basic ones but have to go up to a 12/14 in their individual ones. Also the gusset seems to be becoming narrower and narrower (sorry if that's too much info) Linen trousers are also missized. Bought a size 10 last year and by the time they had been worn a couple of times they were far too big. Wanted to buy an 8 this year with my birthday money but they don't do them in a short in the smaller sizes
Dorothy Perkins things seem to be ok except again for their sizing. I am size 10 and would need at least a 14 in their jeans.
BHS long sleeve tops and polo necks have been good the last 2 years would recommend them.
Laura Ashley items are good quality....0 -
River Island...i have terrible sensitive feet, recently bought a pair of suede/ leather sandals in the sale £25, they are so comfortable ! i love them, i also like their bags.
Hush puppies.... for my feet their soles are heaven....
Redhearring ( debenhams ) Jeans, i bought some flares one last summer, and here i am wearing them at least twice a week and they are fab color and shape!
New look, bought a lovely coat last winter £39.99.. it has been great, i used it daily just now the lining needs some stitching.
Jane norman, over priced, their dresses cost a fortune for the quality, bought a couple of dresses in the last sale online, and when they arrived, could not believe the material, i havent worn them tho, they are lovely, but quality does not seem the best.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -

I will agree with most things here on the brands I know. Kickers shoes are very well rated IMHO. Nike make good sportswear.
Will have to disagree on the Firetrap comment. I think their clothes are very poor quality but shoes are good for sizing and quality.
Their ladies jeans I have actually found to be very SMALL on their sizing.
This is why I want a board like this. So we can come to some kind of consensus. She says toamto I say tomatoe! With enough comments and opinions we can reach some kind of happy consensus that others could buy from based on the comments? No0 -

Sillywilly i think the hard part is coming up with some consensus! :rotfl:
I would disagree with the Red Herring Jeans....The quality wasn't necessarily great and their sizing leaves a lot to be desired. Tried on one pair and i couldn't get the 10 anywhere near done up, i woud have needed possibly a 14 and then another of their pairs seemed too tight on the legs but huge around the waist...0
