Save pounds on tea making

Using a cheap filter coffee machine to save money. If you drink a lot of filter coffee, this may not be useful but if you also enjoy a good cup of tea, it would be worth investing in a second machine. Use loose tea, costs much less than bags in the long run and lasts ages.I had several packets of loose tea, was running out of my favourite brand T bags but hated the mess of tea leaves. Now I use cheap coffee filters, measure the water according to how many cups we are likely to drink and put 1 to 2 measures to filter.I have a special spoon( available on Amazon.co.uk) but a heaped teaspoon would make about 3 or 4 cups of good hot tea.The beauty is that it does not "stew" as it would in a tea pot and a 8oz packet of loose tea lasts weeks longer than the same weight in T bags.Think of the fortune the tea companies have made from us!
The waste bag with leaves are best used in the compost bin, round your raspberry canes or just into the kitchen bin.

Sounds a bit more complicated than just using a tea pot with loose leaves, I just add cold water to the remains and tip contents onto garden, rinse empty pot under tap, or in dishwasher rinse cycle with other breakfast items [unmetered water], not messy at all IME
