Due to receive PPI

Hi, Due to go BR at the beginning of April but this morning received a letter informing me that i am due to get a refund due to missold PPI which could take up to 8 weeks from today. I realise i will have to inform the OR but will he take it off me? It will be for about £400.

Many Thanks

do you still owe anything to the debt involved, if you do it is likely that you will never see it as the creditor will just knock it of the balance

the chances are yes,but dont let that get in the way of a frest start the BR will be giving you,I dont want to get your hopes up but there still is a small chance the OR will either let you keep part of it or all, just be ready with a reason why you need it,have you a big bill coming in soon that you can say it is needed for? and please dont think of not telling your OR as they will be going though your bank account as part of your BR so the last thing you need to do is unset them at he start.fingers crossed for you.
  • Thanks debtinfo no i dont owe anything on the loan it is an old one i paid off about 5 years ago

then as sniggings says you are duty bound to tell the OR and they will probably take it

Although slightly different I had a council tax refund for going back to 1998 which I got from my previous address. I advised the OR and have had to give it up and that was over £1,000, its not nice as it was years ago but what can you do?
