Question for the ladies

I'm on a shedload of medication for various things and then to top it off I needed 4 courses of antibiotics since November when I got a sinus infection that wouldn't go away and then an infection with wisdom tooth that wont errupt.
All those antibiotics caused a massive bout of thrush and now that it's back under control I'm still really dry down there, not on a day to day basis but sex is painful and sometimes i feel dryer than normal.
Practice nurse said that I should use a good vaginal moisturiser but didn't recommend anything, has anyone used one of these before and if so how well did it work?

Oh you poor thing, thrush is awful not to mention everything else. Has the thrush definitely all cleared up as that can leave you sore and dry if it's still there. Is your partner being treated at the same time. He should be.
Don't know about moisturiser but live natural yoghurt is supposed to help relieve thrush.
Hope you feel better soon. xx0 -
I had thrush after a course of antibiotics - I thought I was going to die! I completely sympathise. I tried the yoghurt thing but its messy. The best thing that worked for me was Rephresh - its like a gel that you squirt up there. It's not cheap you get a box of four for about £10 but it works amazingly well. I second the idea of getting your partner checked out. Also try taking an acidophilus tablet a day. HTHThere are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0

Yeah thrush is all clear and partner has also had a course of canestan cream from the doctor (he was mortified when he got that prescription lol), heard about yoghurt but that kind of freaks me out, will definately try the squirty stuff though.0

I have never had a bout of thrush after antibiotics and my dentist put me on some last week.
My mouth was so sore this week, my tongue went blackish and evn bled at one point, never thought about it being thrush but it frightened the life out of me,
it was my daughter who asked if i had been on antibiotics and so of couse i realised then what it was.
If you have to put up with down stairs what i went through this week then you have my every sympathy. Glad youre okay. Im slowly getting through it.
The blackness has gone anyway...............make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Best thing i ever found was sitting with a damp hand towel between my legs...obviously in the privacy of my own bedroom lol. May help late at night before you go bed.:happyhear0
