threats from reliable collections

Looking for help, please........
I have debts totaling less than £4k..2 catalogs, 2 store cards and a loan. Over the last few years I have had cancer twice and an injury to my spine which has caused me to take approx 2.5years off work, i then had to move from my parents house to my own flat. I earn £1002 per month and from that I have to pay rent, council tax, gas, electric, food, petrol (to get to work) and other living expenses..this leaves me with approx £10 per month spare!!! I have written to all of my debt to advise them of this and offering a nominal payment based on what I can afford, all but one refused. I am now getting letters and continuous calls from Reliable collection in relation to one of the catalogs (i owe them less than£500). The latest lettter is advising that the have made an appiontment to contact my home on wed between 6pm-9pm. I called to tell them that i do not agree to this apt and the rude person i spoke to said I would have to deal with the people who would come to my house!! Letter was from them so no idea who is coming. I have written to them numerous times explaining my circumstances and spoken to them on the phone but they wont stop. I dont know what to do next!!!!!!

    Hi

TBH I think that this is probably the usual scare tactic that a lot of debt collection agencies use. If you have another look at the wording of the letter it is probably saying something along the lines of "we have made an appointment to contact your home on Wed between 6pm and 9pm" basically they are saying that they will telephone you but want you to believe that they are saying that they will visit your house, the agent on the telephone probably let you believe that to get a payment from you there and then.

There is a template around here somewhere that tells a creditor that they are not allowed to visit your home, someone will find it for you i'm sure, I would print it out and sign it electronically, then send it via special delivery first thing on Monday morning. Then as mentioned already contact CCCS or Payplan for help.

If anybody does show up, but it's highly unlikely, don't answer the door. Or if you are feeling brave answer and tell them to go away as they are not welcome and you will call the police if they don't, they have no rights at all. They are not bailiffs.

Reliable collections are the in house DCA of JDWilliams. They will try to scare you and threat you alot, but in reality they will do nothing more than sell your debt on.

we have two debts from reliable which is paid through pay plan, they rang me up today sunday, l said ring me on a sunday is it, mm against trade harsment or something like that she said no, also l said deal with payplan, l told her that we are up date with payments, because every time the payments going in late we being find £12.00, so pay plan has to ring them up and reinstate the plan, l said the payments not matching the figure at payplan, she said once reinstated the charge will stop, also she said yes to the other charges, because we have made payments, I think it is a automated system, if your payments not intime, then charge will stick. This is really good to know, as we have will be doing a cca, on my hubby old debt with the same company, we did not realise that we owed them, it was too late enter it on payplan scheme. Just to see what they say, we still going to try get charges dropped, because every time we paid, it reinstated the plan, if you see what l mean, ty linda

Send them this template letter by special delivery.

As the letter makes clear, the paper boy's got more right to be on your doorstep than they have.
I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)

As of the last count I have cleared
    [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt. :(
