BT's ftp site - help request!

After making half a dozen calls to BT tech support and twice being promised that someone would 'look in to it' and call me back (no on did) I finally had a reply today to my email from someone who thinks I'm a time-traveller!:

Thank you for your e-mail dated 31st August 2006.
I understand from your e-mail that you are unable to update a web site on the BT FTP server. I am sorry for the inconvenience.
I would like to inform you that this is a temporary problem with the Yahoo! Server. This issue will be resolved automatically.

So that's all clear then!
Well 'temporary' is now two weeks. I still can't access ftp.btinternet.com nor can my brother, a BTBroadband account holder with a website on the BT server. So now we've decided to move the websites to a more professional provider who actually gives a damn - but does such a beast exist?0
