A tomlin order is a usually a better option than a standard judgment as it won't usually be phrased in such a way that it is a judgment, it's more of a record of the agreement made between the parties.
A consent order will often say "judgment against the Defendant in the sum of X" so this is a liquidated judgment that will get registered if you don't pay it in the relevant period. A Tomlin order will say "parties have agreed that the Def will pay the Claimant X"so it isn't a judgment
Obviously a lot depends on the individual wording but this is usually a way to avoid a judgment so for you it should be a good option.Piglet

Hi, for the past two years i have been paying £50 per month as part of a cc debit. Now the cc solicitors are asking me to sign a Tomlin order. I have another bit of bad news; I've just lost my job so I cannot afford the payment anyway. The nature of my work is under the FSA and I will NOT be able to get another job in my field if I receive a CCJ. Please HELP!!
What should I do?0
