Does anyone know of a good fruit and veg market?

I live in the Killinchy area which would be Ards district and I need to find somewhere that i can get cheap fruit and veg as my children are massive eaters. They use so much energy during the day that they eat me out of house and home! Dont know where they put it. At the minute though I am spending £30-£40 a week on fruit and veg so any suggestions would be very welcome.

St Georges in Belfast is brilliant on a Friday morning & very cheap & good for seasonal stuff - usually go before work (about 8am) & it's busy even at that time of day (always a good sign!) plus you can get nice meat & fish too....apparently Lidl do really good fruit & veg quite cheaply (there's one in Ards, on road out to Comber), only ever had pineapple from there but it was really juicy & sweet:p ...you could also try some of the market shops, don't know if there's one in Ards, but i think there's still one in Comber (near Supervalue??) The Ards area also seems quite good for pick your own farms, there's one at Ballywalter Park near Greyabbey, does Strawberries, peas, beans, currants etc...check out the Old Style board, there's lots of info on there about food buying & shopping & stuff! Hope this helps!

Thanks furrychimp. Yea I have been to the Lidl in Ards. Its cheap enough but its not as fresh as markets I wouldnt think. Always get suspicious of these fruit and veg's that last for days!! Thanks for your tip. Will go to old style board and have a nosey.
