Hi any ideas how I can revive a bunch of coriander I was given today .its gone a bit limp and droopy looking and it would be a shame to chuck it out as I wanted to use it maybe in making some soup.my friend said that it is lovely in sweet potato&carrot soup.

Don't chuck it, freeze it. It'll be even limper when thawed but will be fine in soup.If we are supposed to be thin, why does chocolate exist?0
-
Chop a couple of inches off the end of the bunch of stalks and stand it in a tumbler of full water overnight.0
-
Trim the ends, submerge whole bunch in water, shake dry and put in a plasic bag in the fridge for a few hours-really perks it up.0

There's an existing thread on keeping coriander fresh, with more ideas. I'll merge this thread later

Thanks for the tips,my friend bought a huge bunch and gave me lots to take home with me yesterday.I stuck it in a jug of water overnight and it seems to have perked up a bit I am hoping to use in making some soup today. She is going to start growing some veggies in pots in her garden and as she is such a good pal to me (she gets to the bits in my house that I can't get to because of standing on chairs ect when spring cleaning,) I am going to see if I can get her some seeds. She has a japanese- type garden with lots of pots and low maintanance. She has never grown much before as she is usually away a lot travelling with her husband for part of the year, but she is going to be home a bit more this year so I think she will appreciate some seeds.Hopefully its got be stuff easy to grow so I think some herbs will be an excellant idea as a small present.0

I have bought it cheap in the supermarket before, and picked off the leaves and added to an ice-cube tray covered with a bit of water and frozen. They I have it ready to use for soups etc when I need it.0
