On Amazon the majority are listed for 1p (why would anyone do that as the postage rates look like they could be problematic?) and on ebay many books don't attract any bids at all.
The 1p books are the small paperbacks - the seller makes a little on the postage credit. There's a big thread for amazon sellers - sorry I don't have the link.
Don't forget Royal Mail's postage rates change in August.0 -

Thanks -this makes sense (if I then close cards down). I've just been a bit nervous about applying for (another) credit card in case 100 police officers swoop down and arrest me:eek: !!!Bank charges reclaimed - FirstDirect - In Full £330 :j
Halifax - In Full - £3533 :T :j :T :j :T :j

He has - about 5 weeks ago - but hasn't received anything yet. God knows what people without mums to feed them would do. Oh yeah, they would probably go down to the offices and demand a better service.
I don't think he finds it embarrassing (nor should he) but I don't think the interests of the family will be forefront if ever he does receive anything!!!Bank charges reclaimed - FirstDirect - In Full £330 :j

If you are planning to list a lot of books, Amazon do a Pro-Merchant account where you pay a set fee a month and they don't charge a per-book rate. This is why bookshops can list books as low as 1p, they make almost all the profit of £2.75 postage. You have to be able to sell more than 30 books in that month though. Best just to list rare books, textbooks, expensive ones on Amazon.
The other one is https://www.greenmetropolis.com. You get £3.00 for each book sold (no postage fees so light paperbacks are best) and 5p goes to the Woodland Trust.

I'd also be keen to know what's supposedly wrong with Atlantic - I've just switched to them too and with the plan I'm on, both my electricity and gas are going to be around 4p/ kWH cheaper than British Gas (and that's pre-price rise!)
Surely it's the kWH figure that's the sole indicator of whether you're going to save money or not?
JamesTotal Debt: Owe about £19,000 on credit cards plus £24,000 which is my half of joint loans.0
