why so difficult? - a pure moan...

Hi everyone. I'm finally able to log back on after an absence of 5 days which i've felt really keenly :.( and it's all due to trying to save money

Like all good DFWs i've been trying all angles to save money and I thought I'd hit on a winner by changing my phone and broadband to a package deal (potentially halving monthly costs). My gripe isn't with the companies involved it's just that "why is everything to do with money saving so complicated and plain hard work?"

I've spent the last 5 days making calls to ISP's and phone providers at their ridiculous 'national' or 'premium' rates and i've ended up having to join a pay-as-you-go deal to get back on line as my new provider can't deliver the broadband until the end of Aug!

So not only have I incurred goodnes knows what costs so far, my only current option for internet is payg! That is going to make a huge hole in the potential savings that tempted me to move in the first place. And - WORST OF ALL - I haven't been able to come on here and get the support from you guys that keeps me on track.

Sorry for the whinge but I had been feeling so positive until this setback.

Does anyone else find the whole money saving thing hard going at times?

  • Definately, I'm finding the saving more depressing than the actual debt at the moment.

Hopefully when I see the fruit of my labours that will change :)
  • How about putting a signature on your posts with your total debt and each time you make a payment, the reduced amount? It gives me the incentive I need to keep going when you see the amounts reducing to clear... well almost reducing to clear - but you get my point :rotfl:
