Hi All,
About to take possession of my dream house (hopefully)!
It is over a hundred years old and luckily has not been painted a hundred times.
I want to strip the paint off the doors/ surrounds and skirting.
I would like some advise on the best products to use, anything new and improved on the market?
I may have the doors professionally done ie - dipped but the rest I want to keep in place and strip in situ.
Has anyone used a local door dipping service or could anyone recommend one?
Many thanks

Be very careful if you use a chemical paint stripper. They are seriously nasty with long term side effects. Used a paint dipping service in Law, not sure if they are still there. Heard there was one in the barrows area. If you use a heat gun have to be careful not to burn the wood and can burn themselves out if you use for a lot of wood. Would do practise on sections of wood that aren't visible. Sanding down is hard graft and difficult to get quality result. What ever way you do it is hard work and will take long time.0

Better to take to doors off & either send them away for treatment or DIY carefully in your back garden or shed.
N.Never be afraid to take a profit.
Keep breathing.
Just because I am surrounded by FOOLS does not make me wise. :j0
