  • Hi Veronica,

I went BR 1 year ago at RCOJ in London and it was a pretty painless process, I suggest you get there at 9:30 and fees office opens at 10am then you pay fee and are directed to Thomas Moore Building where they check your papers (it's a bit of a Maze to get from one building to the other but they give you a map at reception:) ). You will then be sent away and asked to return at 2pm - you do not see a Judge. Your name will then be called out and they give you back papers stamped that you are declared BR. I got a call after a few days and they asked basic questions confirming some things and that was it. I contacted them about IPA but eventually I was not given one and was discharged early on 12th December.

Good luck and try not to be too nervous (I know it's hard not to be) as there really is no need to be:)

hi restofmylife, i thought everyone spoke to the OR on the day? just to check stuff like if u need access to your bank account? i have opened a basic account with barclays already and was hoping the OR was going to confirm on the day that its okay to keep it and use it. :(

I went BR at High Court in Dec. Massive building never seen so many corridors and stairs in the whole of my life, but it was ok. Have to wait about til 2.30pm for your paperwork back. Had a call from the OR's office two days later just making arrangements for the interview which was a week after I went BR. Hope this helps you x
  • thanks Dpot. i have written on section 13 (extra info) that my barclays account is a baisc one and that i only just opened it to use after bankruptcy so hopefully they will see that and it will be okay.

Good luck for Monday it is a very long day but well worth it.I remember when the clerk handed by the papers back which said I was BR I cried. Think it was all the emotion and build up coming out (just sheer relief). Even walking back to the station there was an old guy in one of the shop/office doorways begging for money we gave him some change and I burst into tears. Always people worse off than yourself.! Let us know how you get on. Best wishes
  • Hi Veronica,

It will be fine about the Bank Account there is really no need to worry especially as it was opened in preparation for BR.

    Good Luck again for monday:)
