Mortgage Arrears.... Help!!

Firstly i will say that granted i have been very silly but i now want to get help to get out of a bit of a mess.

I own a property that is lease hold and i have rented it out now for the past 3 years to a very good and loyal tennant so everything that side is perfect.

However i live in London and i'm extremely lazy and i only ever go back and collect post every 6 months. The other reason being i dont want to see the bills (very stupid again, i know)

In the post i collected on Sunday i have letters from Guildford County Court and from a Solicitors acting on behalf of the property management Company demanded a serious amount of money!!

The letters from Guildford County Court are as follows -
Acknowledgement of service (part claim 8)
General Form of Judgement order
A statement of costs summary
and a large document (probs 60 pages) called Claim form (CPR Part 8)

I spoke to the Solicitors and they said i owe £3,000 and £800 of that is cost they incurred using a barrister.

No i have missed the post so i have clearly not shown up to whatever happened at court so i called my Mortgage company.

My Mortgage company said they will pay teh amount and add it to my mortgage (i have an interest only mortgage) or i can request taht teh matter goes to a County Court Judgement.

I'm guesses i get my Mortgage company to pay it straight away??? am i right?? any advice is massivle welcome??? do i also have any rights here to get the amount down???

ADVICE PLEASE??

You want to settle these arrears as quickly as you can and get your post redirected to avoid the same problem in the future.

Not opening the bill is not going to make them go away + it will end up costing you a fortune.

Better luck next time. Get your mortgage company to pay up ASAP and add the amount to your mortgage - having a county court judgement against you will ruin your credit rating.

So you didn't get the lenders consent to let the property ?

May be more costly than just the arrears.
