Hospital - Fundraising Ideas for a 5 year old ??

It's been a very tough, long and stressful year and a half since our 5 year old daughter was diagnosed with a tumour - and very happy to ... say removal was successful. Although follow up appointments/scans are still ongoing, we now feel that it's time to give something back to the Childrens Hospital, a thank you for all the wonderful care and support that our daughter/we have received.

We have friends that will be fundraising by undertaking a long cycle ride (ending with us all camping) and my daughter (along with her/our friends) will be taking on a 'mini' 3 peaks challenge.

Our local paper are very interested in advertising the events ..... but we really need to come up with some more fundraising/sponsored ideas ..... especially ones in which our daughter can be involved in.

Any ideas ???
A creative mess is better than tidy idleness :D

  • Hi Candy - so pleased your daughter is doing well.
How about a car wash? She and her friends can get involved (well, as far as they can reach!) Maybe a local supermarket/Church or school would provide the space required?

Maybe some kind of Easter Egg hunt/event? You would need an enclosed area so that it is safe for little ones.

Sponsored silence? Tough for a five year old, lol!

    Hi Candy

Glad to read that your daughter is well on the way to recovery, that's great news.

I used to be involved in various fundraising activities when I lived in Scotland and was involved in Boys Brigade.

Some of the things we did were:

Childrens Disco (Or an adult one for the adults to enjoy some time too) lol
Filling Up Smartie Tubes With 20ps
    Face Painting
An Auction - (this used to be a great opportunity for people to empty their lofts and garages and get rid of some things they didn't want, the Boys would go and collect heavy items of furniture and take it back to the hall for the evening auction.)
    Nearly New Sales

If I think of some other's I'll let you know.
