Hi there everyone I wonder if anyone can help sorry of this is in the wrong place

Last year I signed up with access2 trade to do an electrician course and took out a loan for £5,500 with barclays partner finance 0% APR for a year then 29%APR since then access2 trade has gone into administrtion as barclays parner finance pulled the plug on their funding. Now here is my problem I have only completed 1/2 of the course and it has been nearly 3 months and they still havent found another training provider I have become disillusioned with it all I am very unhappy with the service they have provided. My problem is When I phoned them to try and sort something i.e cancel the agreement or come to some agreement over a compromise i was told this wasnt possible and that i was locked in no matter what they have suspended my monthly repayments and whent the first statemnet came they had added PPI without my knowledge and now they are after 11,000 this seems very excessive could anyone give me some advice on what my rights are or what i can do please help I at my wits end !!!.:(

    Hi Ian

You say you phoned barclays. It is usually better to try to negotiate with any lender in writing not over the phone. They tend to be more reasonable by letter, your issue is often dealt with by someone who has more authority and you have a paper trail of anything they agree to.

Do you work in addition to the training? Were you working when you took out the loan? Only for PPI to be much use you would need to be employed, therefore it might be worth digging out all the original paperwork. You may have a claim for missold PPI.

When you say they have suspended your repayments have they confirmed this in writing? how long for? are they still charging interest?
