It uses Android as the OS but HTC put their own Sense UI over the top and that gets excellent reviews.
There's a comprehensive review here

Summing ti up the phone is technically slightly ahead of the iPhone but the iPhone has the app store but Android is catching up there as well.
If people are going to throw Symbian and Windows phones ionto the mix don't forget there's also the Palm Pre which is highly regarded.
thanks
dont you regard the desire as good not that the legend isnt any good, it looks pretty good but im possibly getting the desire0 -
The Deisre is very good. It's pretty much the same as the Google Nexus One but with the trckball repalced by an opitcal trackball thingy. But I prefer the styling of the Legend.
Phones4U are now selling the legend on Vodafone for £25 a month with no upfront costs. It's my problem, it's my problem

I would definitely wait to see what Apple come up with.
If that ipad was anything to go by, I wouldn't hold your hopes up too much.
Tmobile pulse on at £119 which isn't a bad price, and supposed to be much quicker once custom firmware installed

Can't be bothered to read all that lot but I have a HTC Hero running Android.
I think it is great, I would give the iPhone the edge but the HTC does look good and operate well (even with my sausage fingers).
The configurations of the home screens is great, it really does look good. I have no problems with gmail, yahoo etc (although I do not use it for business)
Can't get TomTom to run on it but it does run CoPilot which is entirely useable.
for me though, I look through my littl'uns iPhone on the App Store and can barely find anything worth downloading which doesn't cost money.
In complete contrast, the Market Place on android has practically everything free. Those which do cost are only pennies.0 -
Have you taken a look at the Nokia n900?Laters

i think it is pretty much the sameness i.e. you can't go wrong.
Andriod advantage - the majority of manufacturers have jumped on the andriod wagon this year with a variety of handsets available, meaning there is something for all. From the Google Nexus ~£380 to the Pulse Mini ~ £99. The market for andriod is only going to grow because google give away their operating system for free, meaning manufacturers such as HTC or Sony can save about 20% of costs when making their phones compared to using other peoples software. It means they can sell their phones for less... thats why the top phones arent as expensive as the iphone on contract, despite being similar spec.
iphone - you pay for the brand... and the exceptional interface. It will be the most desired phone for quite a while longer.
Those into brand and status will end up with an iphone. From a technical perspective they are both pretty much the same thing. Both can play music, both have thousands of applications. Both make phone calls!!!0 -
wait for the 4g, but i don't think it'll be anything good. The android, however, are becoming quite good0

Now i am a lover of all things Apple - I have a Mac and ipod, etc, but I do have an android phone.
Why? Because quite frankly I couldn't justify the cost of the iphone for the minutes I needed. My Android does everything the iphone does, games, web, e-mail (from my domain as well as Google account)
The only thing i hate bout my HTC is the battery life or lack of, but I wonder if that's the same on all phones who have "always on" internet.
HTH:j £2 coins = £2.00 :j0 -
A couple of colleagues have iPhones, a2g and a 3gs I think. Both charge their's daily due to the limited battery life. Apparently if you just use it as a phone it's OK but once you stert using some of the other functions, particularly GPS, the battery drains pretty quickly.
I think it's just one of those things with modern smartphones, they have so much functionality the battery life is pretty poor. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0
