Lloyds/SCM

I am on a DMP with CCCS, only started in February this year. Before that I wrote to my creditors (Barclays, Lloyds, Mint, Santander and Barclays Bank) basically, an overdraft and 5 credit cards (2 Barclaycards) offering pro rata payments. Lloyds replied and accepted the offer 'whilst they sent my account to their debt recovery department'. No-one else accepted so I sought help from CCCS who put me on the plan. Everyone seems to have accepted although nothing definite in writing, but my Barclaycard statements have a note about my plan.

However I have received a letter from SCM who I have found to be Lloyds' in-house solicitors. The letter demands full payment and goes on to say they may take me court/legal proceedings etc. The letter is a preprint from what I can see. But what upsets me most is they claim that I have NEVER contacted Lloyds about my situation when in fact I have done the exact opposite, keeping them fully informed of my circumstances.

I am unable to scan in the letter because the stupid work machine is broken. Should I call CCCS about this, or maybe post a message to them on their section on here?

Should I write to SCM enclosing copy letters from Lloyds?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Call your case manager at CCCS. They will guide you through what you need to do.

Don't panic about it, it'll just be scae tactics at the moment.

Hi, this is typcial Lloyds tactics. Send a letter to SCM stating you have been in touch with Lloyds and you're on a DMP, dont let them bully you into paying anymore. If you like you can give CCCS SCM's address and they will also send details of DMP to them. We've been on a DMP for 2 years and they are one of the worst in my opinion. I know its hard but try not to worry!

I don't actually have a 'case manager' I speak to someone different every time I phone/email.
  • Have just spoken with CCCS and straight away they knew it was Lloyds, even before I said. He said it is basically bullying tactics to make me pay more and I should do nothing with the letter as it would be a waste of my time.

    Hi.

When you say 'they are one of the worst' do you mean Lloyds?

CCCS told me I should just ignore the SCM letter. Pay more? You're having a laugh, I can barely afford what I'm paying now!!

Hi i have asked a few questions today about SCM ,i have a loan with lloyds .I was originally on a DMP with CCCS but deceided to go it alone .I have being doing my own DMP for over 12 months now with no problems ,the biggest part of my debts are with Lloyds .I have 2 letters over the last few weeks from SCM asking for full payment within 7 days £9000:eek:as though i could pay that .I rang them yesterday and they have accepted my payment for 6 months ,i am just going to pay them what i was paying them when it was lloyds .I have been googling them today because i had never heard of SCM but i feel abit worried because theres no way i can pay the full amount back
  • Hi all,
any letter from SCM should instantly be shredded we received a letter from them even though we are on a DMP plan with the cccs.
I spoke to the cccs who told me to disregard it which i did and i have never heard from them since. It is just bullying tactics so ignore it.
    Hope that helps:beer:
