Oxtail - How much per KG?

Vowing to steer away from supermarkets to give my family better quality meat i have been using my local butchers weekly for a while now but last night i sent hubby in to ask how much per kg for Oxtail to be told £7.98 per kilo.
I had noticed earlier on in the day at Asda the butchers counter had it for £4 per kilo.
What is the average price you are paying? Just wanting to compare regional prices so i can see whether i am getting value for money from the butchers or wasting my time and should be looking elsewhere.

Around £5 a kilo in Tesco Blackpool. I am often suprised how expensive it is, especially as there is quite a bit of waste with it compared to other beef cuts. £8 a kilo seems quite expensive, Tesco Organic diced beef is £8.50 a kilo and no waste at all with that! :eek:0
