Hi,
Last year I i got into debt (50k+) and saw this company (mydebtssolved]), director came to my place and I signed a contact that they would do my DMP and I need not worry about dealing with banks and creditors. He asked for £1750 for management fees and i was given piece of papers to sign and and left immediately after getting my cheques. I was not explained what I have just signed or was given a copies of any documents I signed. Next day I asked for copies of contracts I signed and I heard nothing. Within 7 days I wrote to them to cancel my DMP with them, heard noting. Hence I raised this with Financial Ombudsman Service, couple of months later i received 1/2 what gave them. I have been able to get other half because Financial Ombudsman Service said, I waived my rights or something. All I know is I was not explained anything my the guy who came to my house or have I given them any details of my debts or who i owned. Further more they said because they have started DMP programme and started contacting my creditor hence i loose my 1/2 payment.
I am not happy with Financial Ombudsman Service and the way it was dealt with or explanations received from both esp Financial Ombudsman Service.
What can i do here? and please advise.
Regards,
Mike

hi, i would write to them again and ask them how on earth could they have contacted your creditors with no idea who you owed?
Contact one of the free dmp companies to start dealing with your debts. CCCS are good.
hopefully sumbody will be along soon to help you0 -

Precisely what I thought!
OP - you must never ever sign something you haven't read or don't understand. Please be more careful!
With no copies you obviously can't do much. I'd try an SAR under the DPA and see if you can get copies and then go from there (straigt to the CAB)
Good luck, it sounds like a nightmare.Do you need it? Yep. Really? Yes! How have you managed for the last 28 years without it? Erm....
