Moonbeever /Nil Tax Code - help!!??

Hi folks

BR in August 2009, nil tax code took effect in January 2010, I have been keeping the extra tax to one side but I haven't heard anything.

Who or what is moonbeever, when and how will they contact me, and how do I pay them the money I havent paid in tax??

Thanks for clearing this up for me, I dont remember signing anything at OR interview, but maybe I did..... ? :(:(

Most people get a letter from the or after the interview with forms to fill in. One of them is an agreement for the or to contact the tax people to arrange the nil tax code. Then the or is supposed to inform moonbeever (they collect the tax and ipa for the or) who then contact you.

This doesn't always happen! I was never contacted by moonbeever for the 3 months tax I didn't pay - and I don't believe they will ask for it now,I've been discharged for almost 6 months and my tax code has been normal for almost a year!

I would suggest if your worried about it that you contact your or but I would put the tax in a seperate account, just so that you won't be tempted to spend it!

Moonbeever must be more efficient in my neck of the woods!!

We went BR Aug 09, Hubby signed a nil tax IPA in October and we started to send MB monthly payslips.

Nil tax code kicked in Jan 10 and they contacted us in Feb 10 with details of how to pay it to them.

Have also had notification from HMRC that his tax code will return to normal from April 10.

My hubby got sent a Nil Tax IPA to sign, however it was on the same sheet of paper as the Income IPA ( which we successfully challenged) So he never actually signed anything! That was in January and they never sent another one to sign. Nil Tax finally got applied in March. So are they likely to want this money? Will be about £200.

My hubby got a nil tax ipa for one month, but we had a remittance slip to send with a cheque to the IS office in Birmingham, Moonbeever haven't been involved, which from reading the various threads/posts about them is something to be pleased about I think!!

Sounds like another case of different decisions by different or's - so I suppose it's a case of don't spend it,just in case! But if I haven't heard from the or by Oct 10 I'm having a holiday on it - it's not pc but it's the or's mistake not mine.
  • I havent heard from anyone re my tax, only letter Ive had is from Moonbeever re my IPA payments but Im saving the tax as I know eventually they will want it and I dont want to ever ever worry again about money
