try the "click and Reserve" for your local stores to see if they have stock

I just tried that on line for an item I know is still in stock at my local store but isnt in the new catalogue, I got this.
Sorry we are unable to find that catalogue number.
This may be because the number is incorrect or the item is no longer available.
Go to the store and enter it in the stock checker and it will work, online prob not.

if it wont work online then it wont work in store - both systems are fed the same information.

someonehadmyusername - not all items are continued from one catalogue to another. this could because they are seasonal items which wont sell (ie not much use for garden furniture in winter :D ), or discontinued because they havent sold very well.

these items are not normally withdrawn from stock immediately, but Run Out. this RO stock is sold off cheaply, normally under the guise of clearance stock. these items can be awkward to get hold of because whatever stock is available tends to already be out in stores, and if no stores local to you have stock, then it can be difficult to track one down.

perhaps if you told us what items you were after and which are your local stores, we could see what we can do to help

......."if it wont work online then it wont work in store - both systems are fed the same information."....

Dont know if this is entirely correct? for instance the phones in this post..

they are no longer found on the internet site, BUT CAN be found and reserved using the telephone booking service. Don't know about the instore checkers but just goes to show that not all channels are fed using the same system.

    Hope that helps

Is certainly not correct for my local stores checker. I did an online check and it wouldnt accept my number, went instore and they had 4 in stock using their checker, came home and tried the online again and it still said number no longer available for my post code.

All three systems work slighly differently (phone/internet and in store) while they look up the information in the same way, online and via phone can be removed centrally by H/O.

Someone should have told HO that this year they've gone and kept the seasonal stuff.... come xmas day with a foot of snow on the ground (i hope) "i'll have a patio set, a lawnmower and a BBQ please from pages 1121, 1134 and 1120"
I wouldn't mind but it takes up loads of space in the stockroom which could be used for things which actually will sell come xmas
