Missed 1 Mortgage Payment!!!

Hi,

just wanting some advice on how bad this is.. I missed my July mortgage payment on the 28th, I didnt realise I had another payment coming out and the same day, and although I put money in at 7am, Cahoot apply debits then credits, so the mortgage payment bounced

I've managed to get refunded some charges from Cahoot and I cant get in touch with A+L my mortgage lender until Monday, I'm normally v good with money, but had a lapse this month _pale_

Just wondering anyone knows what the affects of this will be on mortgage/credit history/etc.

Thank you in advance

If you make the payment within the next week they probably wont even notice - don't worry.

Yes, I phoned this morning and they don't even know yet, but will hopefully just send a letter, and schedule another DD to be taken out and charge £30 for the pleasure! In total its cost us £55 :(( Thanks for the replies x

I think A&L will let you make a payment over the phone using your debit card .

If you get it sorted quickly then probably none.

Can you (or partner) get into a branch to pay in a cheque and explain.
You might be able to avoid the letter and charges, expecially if you talk to the manager and explian.
I doubt whether it will register as "arrears" if you get in quick and sort it out.

If you cause the bank extra work then I think extra charges are quite justified but provided you are able bodied then you should be able to get to a branch or make a phone call and send a cheque first class.

I called and A+L say that the best way for them is to let the Automated letter get generated and DD to be re-sent, and still charge me £30 (sending/paying outside of this process is more hassle for them!!) :( ah well at least Cahoot refunded me £30. Thanks for your comments, Erewyn
