I wore one of these in construction for years - do be careful - biological powders may take the fluorescence of the strips. If it's clean but just stained and that's a problem for his deliveries - could he ask his employer to provide him with a hi-vis vest/waistcoat that he can pop on just when he's entering customers' premises? As he's thinking about the impression his company is making on its customers, they should respond very positively.

Can you tell us what material it is made of. Sometimes these can be nylon, cotton, or sometimes a rubberised finish.

Soaking in soda crystal solution gets most of the marks out of the ones we use but admittedly tried everything and some just don't budge
One day I might be more organised...........

I would do the same as Lil_me, soak in soda crystals, and then treat any black marks direct with washing up liquid if they are greasy marks, and then put them in as hot a wash as the fabric care instructions allow.

How about using a cream cleaner - like CIF and a scrubbing sponge on the individual marks, then wash in the machine?
