but it would not be keeping a roof over their heads if they are not physically paying any money each month during those 6 months.
just thought are you thinking about it from the angle where they have to pay 6 months deposit and then make payments each month as well as part of the contract, if so that is different and perfectly acceptable.Hi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

True. I wasn't initially thinking about the deposit no, as I'd have thought that this was acceptable anyway. I guess I'd just be surprised seeing how common place it is for BRs to be forced to pay rent upfront, as to why they're then expected to pay extra to an IPA, through no fault of their own?but it would not be keeping a roof over their heads if they are not physically paying any money each month during those 6 months.

I sold my car a few days before my BR date to pay the rent I owed and the OR took every penny of it away from me. She just didn't care that it was for rent as it was considered an asset.0

crikey snowflake, how did you pay your rent?0

Surely if you have to continue paying rent in advance you will have to save what you should pay in rent for the next 6 months advance.0

yes, but how many landlords actually only come to you for the rent each 6 months, normally you would pay a deposit and then pay each month always keeping 6 months in reserve as it wereHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.

What if the tenancy doesn't get renewed...nothing to say it will. You are then in the same situation where you need to pay 6 months up front. I know if I was in the same situation as the op I would need to save the rent incase that occured. Especially with 2 under 5's to concider.0
