The fact that you are a first time buyer should be ok, but you should get UK based advice before committing to purchasing a property in Greece.
As with anything else and as you would when buying a property here, speak with a couple of places to get an idea of what may be available.
Most brokers should be able to get you 'agreed in principle' before you go on any viewing trips.
Be wary of using advisers based in the ea in Greece and signing on the day. Check this against whatever your UK based adviser can offer.
