Self Build Mortgage for a Semi-Detached (terraced) House - Help please?

Hello,

I currently own an end of terrace house. We have planning permission to build a house in our garden (i.e. to make our existing house a mid terrace and to build a new end terrace). So we already own the land, have split the title deeds and we have the planning permission etc... we are ready to go - except for the mortgage!

We have used "The Build Store" to find us a self build mortgage, but our broker has been struggling due to the fact that apparently not many banks want to lend on a self build which is not going to be detached.

Has anyone else come across this hurdle, and do you have any tips about who we can go next for the lending?

Thank you in anticipation! :)
