Ex-employer still using my name in marketing

Hi,
I've just found out a previous employer from nearly 2 years ago is still using my name in their marketing.
I saw my full name on a recent sales email, and a bit of rummaging shows they've been using my former email account and issuing reports and press releases under it.
They didn't replace me like-for-like, so I guess it was a short sighted means of continuity or something...
Anyway - I'm furious that they could potentially be damaging my name in some way!!
Hopefully a polite phone call in the morning will work, but if not, how can I force their hand??

Phone? Write!
Send them notice of your charges for using your name :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
It really depends on the context.....
Obviously you used to work there so they could, for example, describe wonderful pioneering work you did during that time. This would be fact, so as long as they were reasonably careful with their wording there is probably little you can do.
However, what they should not do is claim (or in advertising even give the impression) that you still work for them.
If using your name incorrectly is a serious business advantage to them then you should take some professional advice.
If it is affecting your current employers then they may wish to explore what action they can take. I would keep your current employers "in the loop" in case they get the impression you are still in some way involved with the old firm.0 -
Uncertain, not sure having my great name associated with them is a serious business advantage just yet!
I was more worried about the second point you made - future and current employers finding info on the web that conflicts with my CV.
Also, my name was at the end of a really awful sales pitch - I don't want that to reflect the quality of my actual work.0 -
you need to remove your name from that list it may affect you in the future but im not sure about it inform your previous employer about this and request them to remove your name if they refuse to do ...... get some advice from a lawyer .... he may guide you legally to solve this problem0
