my partner (not married)and i seperated many months ago, however remained living in the same house. house and mortgage is in joint names , but she hasnt paid anything towards the mortgage for 6 months. she has recently moved out into rented accommadation. she wants the house put up for sale and take any equity due soley to herself as she at the time of purchase was gifted with the deposit required by a third party.
i am willing to continue to pay my half of the mortgage but will this ensure my credit rating will be unaffected - is she responsible for her half?
other option would be to default on mortgage forcing reposession but how would this effect me going forward and what hidden costs would this involve?
Thanks

I am afraid we go over this ground time and time again.
A joint mortgage means you are both liable for the whole about, not just half. This may sound harsh but that is the law - an a lender can hardly take possession of half a house.0
