Hi, I need help in working out pro rata.
After two and a half years of no pay rise Im going on a job hunt! I have looked at a number of jobs in schools but working out the wage is turning my brain mushy!!
If I understand correctly do I work out how many days I work which I think is 37 weeks. So I take the Per annum wage which is 15,725 divide by number of days working 291 then times by the weeks???

yep that's pretty much it, I work 42 weeks out of a 52 week contract so i'd work mine 15725 divided by 12 to give a monthyly figure, then divided by 4 to give a weekly and then times the weekly figure by 42 to give me my actual salary.0

Term time jobs can be a bit more complicated.
52 week salaries are based on taking 5.6 weeks holiday min so they only work 46.4 weeks
With term time jobs you normaly get paid for your holidays outside term time so have to factor that in.0 -
there's a great website that will do it all for you - can't post links but whack salary calculator uk into google.0

A month is not 4 weeks.
Should be x*42/52 but that asumes you take your holidays in the 42 weeks.0 -

WRONG!!!!
12 x 4 = 48, not 52! (there are more than 4 weeks in every month except February)
So you should be doing 15725/52*42 = 12,700 plus some pence per year.
Your sum gives you 13,759. You earn £1k per year less than you think you doI was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

You may need to factor in the number of hours worked compared to the number of hours a full-time person would work as well ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

With seriously incorrect maths. Really helpful!alice's_mum wrote: »I don't earn less than I think I earn!!
That's not what your post impliedalice's_mum wrote: »My LEA works everything out by the number of hours you work so I work 34 hours per week for 42 weeks which is a point on the pay scale equivalent to 0.9 of a whole time equivalent.
Good. Hopefully their mathematical formula is more accurate than yours!I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
