Entitled to some form of child support?

Can anyone give me some advice, my partner and her 5 year old son are about to move in with me. I will be working but initially my partner won't be until she has found a job. She'll be living in my flat and i'll be paying all the bills etc until she gets a job.
Question is are we entitled to any child benefits and am i allowed to claim any as he's not my child he's my partners? I do have a daughter that i already pay child support too so was wondering what i would be able to claim?
Any pointers would be appreciated :-)

she will at least be getting £20 child allowance, does she not claim maintenance from the childs father.
Is she claiming JSA orESA
Dont forget if she moves in with you, you will lose your 25% council tax allowance.
I would have thought that you could claim child tax credits but I'm sure some one will be along to verify that.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Yea she claims the child tax credit but that's all at the moment. Doesn't claim anything from the father (long story).0

If shes already claiming child tax credt then i cant see what else she or you could claim for.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Apart from child benefit and tax credits theres nothing else. She will have to close down her single tax credits claim and reapply as a couple0

Why does she not claim any maintenance - if she wants to open a claim then the CSA are not allowed under the data protection act to reveal her whereabouts, so if she is worried about reprisals then she need not be.
Dependant on your joint income you may also be able to claim working tax credits if you work more than 30 hours a week - you can check on www.entitledto.co.uk as to the amounts you would be eligible for.Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0 -
If you pay maintainance through the CSA then your payment will be reduced when your partners child is living with you.0

You need to notify the CSA of when you move in as your stepchild will need to be included in your case.0

She really cant expect any more from the state while father gets away scot free, you are facing up to your responsibilities, so there is no reason why he shouldnt. No offence intendedmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
