bankruptcy date

Hi
I thought my bankruptcy was on the 29th but it is the 31st March. My CAB advisor has managed to get them to fit me in even though they were full up. She has advised me to get there at 8.30 and warned me that I will be there for hours. It is at Manchester county court has anyone been there?
On the 26th March I have to have a doctor come to my house to review my disability claim so I am totally stressed.
I just want to get this month out of the way.
Thanks for all your help.

I assume the CAB advisor knows what how the system works at the court, but if you are unsure then call the court yourself and ask them if there is a set time to your appointment.

You may be there for hours - I went to a different court but I too was there for hours. But these days they appear to cap how many they can deal with in one day so you are not there for hours and hours.

I would strongly recommend that you take a friend/relative with you. It helps with the stress levels and if you are disabled then you may need someone anyway to assist you.

It will be fine. The courts are used to seeing thousands of us, all stressed out, worried and panicing. The majority are nice people who do understand the trauma of just not knowing.

Hello, My it's all happening at once isn't it! Echo what Sky has said, if you can take someone it is reassuring, take spare change for coffee machine and a paper or magazine to read while waiting.
You will be fine, deep breaths and we'll all be thinking about you.

    Take care
