Felt like a post simply to say I'm finally starting to screw down my debt.
This time last year I had 87K of debt and was spending far more then I should have been.
This month I've finally got below the 80K mark even though I'm being crucified with high CC charges.
Over the last two months I've paid off nearly 2K. On top of that I've been able to have several treats which I've wanted/needed for a long long time!
Got my mortgage statements the other day too, 14yrs 1 month left. Thats mortgage free by 45 on the current schedule, 40 if my plans come to fruition!
Wasn't that long ago I was feeling very negative about my situation. If you're feeling like that now take solace in that it is possible to work your way through your debts and come out on top. Just keep at it.:)

Have you ever done a SoA? I'm thinking why are you concerned to get your mortgage down when you have £80k of other debt which is presumably on higher APRs.Empty_pockets wrote: »... This month I've finally got below the 80K mark even though I'm being crucified with high CC charges.

OK, so 15K of shortterm debt. Although a mortgage is debt, the terms are such that it shouldn't be a problem unless you have overstretched or can't meet payments.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
