Problems with Barclaycard & CitiFinance

Hi everyone
I have read with interest that Barclaycard refuse to accept any DMP offers from CCCS and continue to charge interest and charges as well as default charges. They then pass the debt onto their inhouse Debt Collection Agency (DCA) Mercers who continue to refuse to acknowledge the DMP. They also harass you and in some cases contact your employer.
CitiFinanace apparently have their own DMP scheme which they offer to their customers who are in financial difficulty. This causes major problems if you have more creditors than CITI. CITI again will not acknowledge a CCCS DMP.
Has anyone had first hand experience of this whilst on a DMP.
Any advice on this matter is much appreciated.
Thank you in anticipation.
Has anyone had experience of this?

I had the former EasyJet MasterCard with Citi which I added to my Kensington DMP with absolutely no problems at all - they accepted straight away. i am very surprised they will not acknowledge it - I wonder if perhaps this is a new thing as my credit card went on my DMP in the summer of last year, and I've had no problems since? All they asked me was my reason why (overcommitment - 14 other creditors) and they were absolutely fine - them, NatWest and GE have actually been the only creditors to respect the fact I'm dealing with a DMP company and have been liasing with them instead of harrassing me - so why they wont accept a CCCS DMP is beyond me...!*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

Barclaycard (Mercers) were right numpties with us and wouldn't accept a self administered DMP unless we paid about three times what we can afford. Our response is to put the cards' agreements into dispute by requesting a copy of the CCA. They are old cards, I'm hoping that they won't be able to find the CCA.
When we rang CITI, they offered us a good deal. It's only a relatively small balance and, whilst the minimum payment only dropped from about £35 down to £24, so long as we pay on time, there's no interest, phone calls, snotty letters. Pro-rata we should be paying about £7 on this one. However, the offer of the simplicity appealed straight away. Not sure what they'd be like if we hadn't accepted.

Hi everyone
I have read with interest that Barclaycard refuse to accept any DMP offers from CCCS and continue to charge interest and charges as well as default charges. Not true!
They then pass the debt onto their inhouse Debt Collection Agency (DCA) Mercers who continue to refuse to acknowledge the DMP. Also not true
They also harass you and in some cases contact your employer. Contrary to OFT guidelines even Barclays/Mercers are not that stupid!
CitiFinanace apparently have their own DMP scheme which they offer to their customers who are in financial difficulty. Many peeps on these boards have DMP's and have added Citi to them not vice versa.
This causes major problems if you have more creditors than CITI. CITI again will not acknowledge a CCCS DMP.

It is important to remember that ALL creditors WILL treat you as an individual. There are NO hard & fast rules in this game other than no two people can claim to have the same experience!LBM:FEB 2008

Only know about Barclaycard. My first DMP payments will go out to creditors on 25 March. I am with CCCS and haven't had any response in writing from Barclaycard about my 2 accounts (Visa and Mastercard), but received statements last week which requested the agreed payment amount (CCCS proposal) and is showing no interest will be added next month. This must mean that Barclaycard are going along with the DMP for now at least!0

Only a couple of my creditors acknowladged my DMP, the rest just reset my minimum repayment to my CCCS offer and froze the interest at 0%. I think by doing it this way they can change their minds when they like
as they haven't committed to any given time. DMP mutual support thread member:3270 -
A Big Thank You to All who posted a reply. As the days pass and the replies to my questions mount the panic and worry seem to have subsided. Hope this is not temporary.
I guess the reality is if I have not go it it they cannot get it, and surely something is better than nothing.
Thank you all once again you have all inspired me.Mikon Riding the DMP Rollercoaster full of ups and downs but i will get to the end. :T:j
