Finally Admit Defeat - Online Petition Questions

Hi all,
After many years of trying to claw back some ground on the debts I incurred through a combination of greed when the property market was good, pig headedness, plain stupidity - and maybe just a little bad luck, I've finally admitted defeat.
After reading through a fair bit on here, I decided to do it online and bite the bullet. I do have some questions though...
I realise the above makes me sound like an idiot ... bet then, I probably am by most measures.
Many thanks in advance!

- I'm now employed as a "Business Manager." Will I need permission to continue working?
- When listing creditors. To be frank and honest, I have no idea when I incurred most of the debts as it was over a long period whilst renovating property. Is there any way of finding out?
- Also, given I just stopped paying people 12 months ago (Couldn't afford the payments - creditors weren't very helpful and I simply didn't care anymore), I have actually lost track of who I owe money to and how much. Again, is there any way of finding out?

Hello and welcome Jase, Have you taken advice from one ot the debt charities? As the judge will ask you this.
1. This depends on your contract. Is there a bankrupy clause?
2. Have you saved any statements? The OR will get details from your banks/credit cards companies.
3. So you really don't know how much you owe or to whom, is this right?
You've have stumped me with question 3. maybe check with expedian etc
Hopefully someone will be able to help further x"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride"

After reading through a fair bit on here, I decided to do it online and bite the bullet. I do have some questions though...- I'm now employed as a "Business Manager." Will I need permission to continue working? Unless it's your own Ltd company and you are a director you can carry in a managerial role.
- When listing creditors. To be frank and honest, I have no idea when I incurred most of the debts as it was over a long period whilst renovating property. Is there any way of finding out?

Again, is there any way of finding out? All info for Q's 2 and 3 should be shown on your credit file.
I realise the above makes me sound like an idiot ... bet then, I probably am by most measures.
Many thanks in advance!
Hope this helps some.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

Thanks for the welcome!:)
I haven't to be honest. Will he frown upon it, or is the question a formality? I'm 100% sure any advisor would recommend bankruptcy as the only viable option and really just want it over and done with now - it's been a very hard decade of working my heart out and it's all been for nothing - and frankly, the fewer people I have to bore with the details, the better - both for me and the rest of the world!

1) No formal contract as yet - I will ensure no bankruptcy clause goes in there though.
2) I have limited statements as a lot of them no longer communicate with me - only a few hardcore ones are bothering even to call these days. Very limited mails through though and all those are from debt collection agencies making all the threats/promises/offers of tea and sympathy imaginable.
3) Yeah, that's right. To be honest, after 8 years of working up to 3 jobs, renovating property single handed and sacrificing life for money, once I realised I'd lost it all I simply didn't care any more. I thought this would change over time, but it hasn't - and were it not for the fact that I now have a little girl and owe her a good start in life, I sill wouldn't be here.
Thanks sincerely for you advice (and any future advice).

Yeah felt exactly the same here, was also without a fixed address after losing both my job and my previous flat 4 years ago, so that's when I ceased contact with all of my creditors. Some of them (or rather the debt companies they'd passed it on to) found my new address and started sending letters but Barclaycard still hadn't. Last I knew was receiving text messages from Mercers chasing up that debt a while back, so last week I finally called Mercers to find out my account number and how much was owed, and they couldn't even find me in their system!
Bloody good debt collectors, aren't they?! Even when you volunteer all the necessary information they still can't find you! Finally got them to find me, when I lost my flat I'd had my mail redirected to a temporary address for a bit, never lived there, but I lost access to my mail before the end of redirection, so it must have got sent back to sender, who then used that address as my last known address... Gave them my new address asking for a statement of what I owed, and still haven't received anything!
Anyway, if you even remember who you owe money to, and what address they have on file for you (but not the amounts) it might help if you can include it in the form, they will contact your creditors and check anyway.
Good luck with it all!0
