Unknown CCJ

Hello

This is my first time posting on a forum.

So where do I start, well it all started 2 months ago when i went to get finance on a new car and was refused the credit now i have never been refused before.

So I did my checks and it turns out my partner didn't pay the mortgage on a few occasions and it went to court unbeknown to me and this has given me a CCJ. But why should I have this if I knew nothing about the debt.

My partner attended the court by himself without telling me. The debt has since been paid off as i found out.

How do i get this removed and clear my name.

Please help.

Many thanks

J Taylor

If the mortgage was in a joint name, there is nothing you can do you are both liable for the account and the consequences of not paying, if one person manages it for both partners it doesn't matter the CCJ/Defaults will be issued against both, no offence but ignorance or not knowing doesn't resolve a person of responsibility.

If it however was not a joint mortgage, and nothing to do with you, you can speak to the 3 credit reference agencies and ask for it to be removed, if they don't you'll need to contact the courts to get it passed down to the CRAs to have it removed.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
