Hi everyone i wish so much that i knoew of this site years ago. it sunday and you have taken the time to ead this so thank you all.

i have been with GP on a debt mgt prob since Aug 2006. At the start of the prog, my husband & I owed 36k in both joint and single debt. The first mth we made the payment to them my husband walked out.I havent heard from him nor seen him since.I had a nevrous breakdown and todate i still have depression. I have continued to pay the dmp throughout. We owed 36k and know owe 32k.I have asked GP for help to consider me for an iva in my name they said that they couldnt.I askede them to help me with br and they said thath they couldnt do that either.i work full time and have lost my home through repo as i was paying both morgage & dmp couldnt afford to do both and as it was a joint morgage i could only speak for myself not my husband.at the rate of repaying like this i will be 80 before i am debt free, i am really stressing about this. gp charge me £29.50 mth & as I no longer het letters or contact with my debtors i have to go to GP for that. i have asked 4 times now & each time they have promised to send me my info so that I could go to ask for help from somewhere else or to a charity that may nt charge as much so i can pay it toward my debt further. Can anyone help me with some advice thank you all in advance xx

Sorry to hear that you are in such a sticky situation. My advice is for you to call one of the Debt charities such as the CCCS. The advice they give you is free, and if Bankruptcy is the best path for you, they will tell you.

I do hope you get the help you need and wish you all the best for the future

Hi and welcome, first thing Make a list of all your creditors, debts, assets.
Secondly and as Amiga has said most important is contact one of the following debt charities:-

Consumer Credit Counselling Service - Website: CCCS Telephone: 0800 138 1111
National Debtline - Website: National Debtline Telephone: 0808 808 4000
Citizens Advice Bureau - Website: Citizens Advice or visit your local CAB centre (find nearest)

Please try these they don't charge and are impartial, try at least two.

I'm so sorry, my you've been through alot!
If there's anything else we can do please ask.

    Take care

CAB will also be able to help with getting access to your file from GP
