it's too big and too soon for most unfortunately and the only people I could see it fitting standard criteria would eb cheshire mortgage corp but the rates are just bonkers and nearly 10%!!!!

Ask your broker who he spoke to, if it was the usual banks and large building societies then he's missed a few. ITL who are the intermediary arm of Stroud & Swindon who may listen if you can prove your circumstances re the move etc but even then I feel it would be chancing it, especially as they have announced a merger with the Coventry BS today (I think today....it's been a long one!!)

If the mortgage app with Natwest asks if you have had a ccj and you tick no when you know the answer to be yes then that's submitting false information to the bank I'm afraid. They have other means of checking also which could leave you high and dry if it came on top at a later date.

Not the answer I wanted to hear re chances of getting a mortgage with a high street lender but thanks for the advice. Re Natwest will stick to my guns and only use someone who is fully aware of my current circumstnces

before getting the mortgage loan you need to focus on the type of interest they are offering cause there are two types ,fixed and floating where in floating the interest rates will be fluctuating according to the market and economy of the country and also on the repo rate .... you also need to get the value of the property judged to avoid cheating ,......

Yes I have spoken to them but they are waiting to get a decision from their underwriters....not getting my hopes up though based on the reaction of other lenders

Crikey Vig, I hope the bank that is holding his £20k isn't a mainstream lender!!

OP let us know if it is or not and how you get on would you?

the banks don't have any loyalty these days to people who should be classed as good (and loyal) customers which is a shame. I once saw a very, very large mortgage at low loan to value and 1 x income turned down because the computer said no and this guy had well into 7 figures invested in the bank.

try the ITL route with your broker....the worst that can happen is another no you will need to wait. Sorry I can't be more positive but all the best with it...life's too short to let 'em grind you down.
