5 months, im at 26 and counting for my OH

It does depend on the DCA, some are more aggresive than others, but in all that time, only one out of six actually did anything, and issue court proceedings.....costing them £500-600 for a £400 debt........and lost the lot in court as they did not turn up
99% of the threats are hot air and bluffsThats it, i am done, Blind-as-a-Bat has left the forum, for good this time, there is no way I can recover this account, as the password was random, and not recorded, and the email used no longer exits, nor can be recovered to recover the account, goodbye all ………….

Have you talked it through with anyone? Gotten any advice? That should be your first step, try your local CAB or give National Debtline a call, it may be there's a better alternative for you dependant on your circumstances.no i haven't, i dont know what i am supposed to do next.
If bankruptcy if definitely the way you want to go then you need to call up your local county court and make an appointment with the Official receiver. You need to fill out the forms which you can get online or from your local court. You fill them out and it would be a good idea to get them checked by a caseworker or debt advisor and then take 3 copies of them all to the court along with the court fee and deposit. The OR will then go through your application and generally it's all very smooth and problem free. If you have surplus income you may end up paying a percentage of your disposable income in a income payment arrangement/order.

Thank you thats good to know!
To be honest, the whole thing frightnens the life out of me. Declaring Bankruptcy is not something i want to do but i have to. if i am so have any chance of a decent future i HAVE to have a clean slate.
i had been burying my head in the sand for so long and i finally did something about it, and then guess what? i buried my head again.
but thats it. As of now i'm pulling my socks up and facing it.0 -
Just to add to immoral_angeluk post, dont let the nasty letters rush you, which was sort of the message in my post, in most cases you have plenty of time, but even if one was to start legal action, you still have plenty of time if you handle it right (sorry immoral_angeluk but i have t advise the OP does not go to CAB CCCS are any other charity if they want to buy time
)
Our court summons was issued in august, it was febuary of the following year before the hearing
So time is not an issue

This sounds like me a month ago and now I only have just over a week to go before the 'appointment' with the Court. I thought it was with the Judge not the OR ?! Anyway, the threatening letters to send someone round I'd ignore if I was you (I turned mine into paper aeroplanes and flew them from one end of the flat to the other whilst waiting for the knock on the door). I have a joint front door with another flat and their letters looked more frightening than mine so don't despair. Like you, I have the court fees and they even squeezed me in before the fees go up next month. The head-sand-burying thing .. all of us here have done that but you reach 'that' point when you 'know' you have to face up to it. There are some wonderful people on here who will bend over backwards to give you helpful advice and don't worry or be afraid to ask or feel that your the only one going thru this,

hi auldblerk
your appointment with the court is with the judge. at a later date you will have an interview either over the phone or face to face with the official receiver
hope that helps0 -
Ye it does help, thanks for that0
