Hi
I spoke to my CAB advisor yesterday and she has booked me in for March 29th for my bankruptcy. I am dreading it but I just want to get it over and done with. Having this site helps - knowing that there are other people in the same boat. Also, reading the advice and experiences of others.
Thank you all.

Good Luck leahceri. I found the whole experience quite simple, once the decision is made. I hope you find the court staff very understanding and polite, I did when I went to declare myself bankrupt. I came out of the court thinking, what was I afraid of?

hi
Thank you everyone for your support0 -
Leahceri i'll not repeat the excellent advice you've already had...try not to worry (its really NOT as bad as your thinking it will be to be honest) and as ICM said three years ago I came out of court thinking "huh....was that it?"
you'll feel a little flat for a day or two but then the feeling of all the weight lifting will kick in...best think I liked about my bankruptcy day?? the best nights sleep that night i'd had in a long long long time

As everyone has said you will be fine, everyone feels the same as you but it really is a painless process, and everyone at the court are usually very nice and understanding.:pB&SC No. 298

Hi Leah
I know it may seem daunting....I`m going through it too. Someone said to me recently that I should look forward to it as a new begining & as a real positive opportunity to get on with my life. It still scares me to death but I am looking beyond it now & seeing what I `can do` rather than what is `holding me back.`
Not sure if that makes sense but its that light at the end of the tunnel....just got to focus & move towards it.
Good luck,

Try starting a new thread with this question and you will get a lot more help. Forget what you are being told, the only reason you would not be eligible for BR was if you are not insolvent. Try talking to one of the debt charities, links below, they should be able to help you. If you do go BR, any joint debt then will fall on to your OH, but you would be free of it, if you do not have any assets to lose then BR does sound like the best option, but please contact one of the below for free advice.
