Hi
I'm currently on repayment and enjoying the low interest rates.
Our mortgage is joint but my OH went BR in November '08 and I picked up my one and only ever default as a result of that BR.
My credit rating is currently poor at 609 which I beleive is due to the OH's BR as i personnaly have never missed any paymetns etc and have always had a good credit history.
I earn £35k + on average £5k overtime and have another 13yrs left until I can retire from my career, though that will have the option of staying on.
My wife is currently on mat leave but will be returning to work in June as a SE homeworker so her earnings aren't going to be very much at all.
We have 2 children, car finance of £3.5k and a loan of £4.5k. Credit card will have nothing on it next month and there's no other debts.
The house is worth about £140k and the current mortgage is about £122k.
I'd like to remortage to get a fixed deal before the interest rates start to climb again but do I have a realistic chance of getting one at the moment either joint or in my own name only?
Kind regards
Mark
