Is this a case for OFT?

Hi Guys
I'm in need of some advice, i took a loan from Cheque Centres and due to circumstances beyond my control i went into default, it has now been passed to their debt collection department and the story goes like this....after several texts past 9pm at night from their collections dept i received a telephone call at work which my manager picked up, i wasn't avaliable at the time and the man on the other end of phone told my manager he was calling from Cheque Centres regarding an outstanding debt.... my manager asked him not to call the number again and to contact me on my mobile... he then proceeded to call my x mother inlaw (god knows how he got the number) and told her the same thing and requested my address details from her, then i checked my phone and had missed call, rang the number back only to speak to a very abisive ignorant man who said i must pay in full, i offered a £25 payment and he said that wasn't satisfactory and they will refuse the payment to which i was annoyed at, i then asked if he was the one who contacted me at work and he said yes i asked him not to call the office again at my request and that i will call back to discuss repayments(i wanted to check OFT if they could refuse part payment) after speaking to my manager she said that she refused to name my place of work, 10 min later the same man called back several times asking the company name and that we didn't need to know who he was, so then i picked up a call and it was him so i said 'do not contact me at work' so he called again and again. checked my mobile and had voice mail saying he was sending a court order by fax to my HR for dedcution of wages.....PANIC!!!! (but he had my old work details anyway) But he didn't know where i worked so how could he do this?? is it a threat?? then i had 9 missed calls within 20 min off same guy! is this harrassment? He then called my work again!!! so i told him it was harrassement after i'd asked him not to call there and he asked if i dared to challenge him on that... I accept the debt and will pay it off but i do not accept this guy harrassing me in this way. Can i take this to OFT?? Help!

This is a serve case of harassment, you should submit complaints to both OFT and FOS. The FOS in some cases do allow compensation to be issued.

By ringing 3rd parties (family/employees) and mentioning who they are they are in breach of 2.6
    i. disclosing or threatening to disclose debt details to third parties unless
    legally entitled to do so
    j. acting in a way likely to be publicly embarrassing to the debtor either
deliberately or through lack of care, for example, by not putting
correspondence in a sealed envelope and putting it through a letterbox,
thereby running the risk that it could be read by third parties.

You can in the meantime use DPA to force removal of all details bar your name and address from their system, read this post in full - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=11571485&postcount=4

They can't deduct from yours wages.

There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies
