tesco credit card

If you make a debit card payment to tesco credit card to pay your monthly amount make sure that you do it well before the due date as I have just found out that any payment made has to have 2 working days to clear on to your account .So if you make a payment on a friday it might not clear until the following tuesday so you might incur a late payment charge just like me .

( this is somthing that they have introduced in the last few months )

I found this out when I paid mine a couple of months ago, I hadn't used it for months and explained that I thought it was a ridiculous rule!! He said that as it was the first time I had paid since the rule was introduced that he would credit the charges I would have incurred. Fair enough.

Still think it's a bloody cheeky rule though!

Never ask them anything. Tell them what you think! They want to keep people happy and will suggest something to keep you sweet. If you ask outright they quite often refuse.

What the person said is that though my debit card could have the payment taken out straight away it still might be 2 working days ie next tuesday before the payment is showing against the the outstanding debt

I have a TCC, is there any way of paying on-line, as phoning up etc is proving to be a right pain

I have an abbey bank account and you can set up payments online for that. I expect most banks are the same. When I get my credit card statement I go online and put in the amount I want to pay and the date I want it to leave my account and the payment then goes out on that day. I always do it at least four working days ahead, although at the moment it does actually reach my account two working days after it is sent.
