SOA - can you have a look please?

I already posted it as part of another thread, but didn't get any response, so thought I'd post it separately...

Here's a quick SOA if anyone wants to have a look at it. That's only based on what I'm getting just now, as I said things will change slightly in my income from April onwards.
I still need to enter a figure for medical bills, but not sure how much that would be, so I'll have to look into it more.

I have just looked at my SOA and I was aloud £40 for cloths you don't have anything down for TV licence. On medical I was aloud £40 am not sure they will allow Holidays, but someone will be soon who knows a bit more about SOA's. This is just an example of what I was allowed
    Good Luck.

I'll try more for clothes, although if they see me they might not believe me! I had next to nothing to spend on shoes or clothes for the past 2 years so I'm left with clothes that have holes in them, and 2 left shoes that are sort of OK, and no right shoes as both of them have a big hole in the sole, which means I can't wear them if it's been raining.

I don't have anything for TV licence as I haven't had a TV for years. I don't want to put anything down if I'm not able to justify it afterwards.

Sizzler, yes, it's electric heating, and I can't bring that bill down, can give proof if needed. Gas is low but it's only for the cooker / oven.

How can I possibly put £25 for landline if I don't have a landline number?!
I have a mobile that costs me quite a lot, but hopefully they won't need the details as it's part of my business expenses (same for internet)?

Contents insurance I'll have to look into, it was just an estimate based on a quote, as I don't have any yet, just can't afford it, but £10 a month sounds reasonable...

when you say the mobile "costs alot" depends how much....the receiver will allow for a mobile contract as long as its not too excessive, electricity & gas are a little on the low side dont forget to factor in winter bills as well...dont want to sell yourself too short

Just to mention clothes, I'm pretty sure you're in Scotland Rapael and for a family of 5 we were allowed £64 maximum so £40 may be pushing it for 1, you can try though. As they say if you don't ask you don't get.

Also medical, hubby and I were allowed £30max between us and we both wear glasses. Again give it a bash and see what happens.

Presents not allowed, Holiday not allowed. This is just from my experience.

    :)

EDIT: as for utilities we put £70 electric and £80 oil and we weren't queried at all. I asked if it was too high and he said "no, even if it did it costs what it costs." So as long as you can show that's how much you spend I don't think you'll have a problem.

Thanks that's helpful to know. I thought the clothing figures quoted were a bit high, but I might try for £25-£30 anyway and see what they say. Spent £20 getting 2 pairs of trousers in Asda yesterday, last time they were only £8 each :(

Had glasses / contacts too. But haven't used them in a while so dunno how much they'll cost now, my monthly DD for contacts stopped at the same time as I stopped using my bank account, I still had a lot leftover, plus my glasses, but lost them since and no contacts leftover...

Holiday and presents is just me putting a figure just in case, I haven't really spent that over the past few years, even though I'd like to if I can.

May bump the gas and electric, after all who knows how cold next winter will be, and even this year, I didn't use the heating as much as I would have liked.

Under the OR's technical manual (i.e guidance for what they can and can't allow) it does state that they can allow money for a non-extravagant holidays, but it’s at their discretion and some OR's allow it, some don't. I would include it and you may or may not be allowed it.

Just an update, I had my phone interview with someone from KPMG this afternoon, they allowed £5 for mobile, and told me £150 for groceries was a bit low so put in £200 instead, but they wouldn't allow any more than £20 for medical (contact lenses alone are £18 per month so I guess I'll have to try and avoid the dentist for a bit longer!), no holidays or anything above the bare essential (queried the £50 electricity so I had to explain it's electric heating I have, didn't include home insurance since all I have so far is a quote but I haven't taken the policy yet, still waiting for my bank card to arrive, so they said I should just update them once I have the insurance set up), the amount I have left works out at £75 every month, and that's what they want my monhtly IPA to be, quite a bit more than I expected, not even a percentage but the full amount!

Raphael are you in Scotland or England?

ETA: Just seen on another thread that you are in Scotland. Have just had a quick look on hte AIB site and have seen this, so I think your trustee has made a mistake as part of your income is benefits
2.2 What happens to my income?

Your trustee may want you to make a contribution from your income or pension to help towards paying for the cost of your bankruptcy and your debts. They will not take a contribution from social security benefits or tax credits.
Your trustee will look at your income and how much you and your family need to live on. They will assess whether or not you have any surplus income and, if you do, they will expect you to make a contribution from that. They will agree a voluntary contribution amount with you. This is known as an Income
Payment Agreement (IPA). You can agree to have deductions taken directly from your wages.
If you cannot reach an agreement, your trustee can ask a sheriff to decide the amount you should pay. The sheriff will take into account any information you provide before making a decision. The sheriff will make an Income Payment Order (IPO) stating the amount you must pay. Your trustee can ask the sheriff to order payments directly from your wages.

Ask them for a breakdown on how they came to that figure.

  • Right, I have just rang the AIB and asked " If I have £533 per month income and £302 per month benefits and I had say, £75 left after the outgoings had been agreed by the trustee, would I have to make a contribution?"

Answer from the nice lady at the AIB was "No! definatly not!"

So, I think you need to challenge this after you get it in writing.
