Could someone tell how can I get that 100 points coupon for tesco. Thanks.
I can - buy your groceries worth £50 & you get double points:rotfl:soz' can't resist the temptation;)
Yesterday we had Indian : a jar of Patak 'Jalfrezi' sauce (or any sauce) with chicken (you can use any meat if you like). Cut your meat into pieces - fry/seal the meat in oil for 5 minutes, pour the jar of sauce onto the pot/wok & 1 tbsp of tomato puree for colouring (this will look like the one you had in indian rest'), simmer it for 10 minutes don't add any water as the juice will come out of the meat, add salt to taste & sprinkle fresh chopped coriander & serve with rice or naan bread. We also had hardboil eggs with it.
Tonight my family are having Italian : Bolognese pasta bake (serve 6).
Fry 1 onion & garlic (optional - I don't use garlic @ home, will only have garlic when somebody else cooked!) until soft add mince meat (1 box) cook till browned. stir in 2 cans of chopped tomatoes, dried or fresh oregano 1tbsp, 2 tbsp tom puree and season with salt & pepper & simmer for 20 mins. Cook your pasta (until tender) the usual way.
Melt butter 25g, stir in flour 25g & gradually whisk in milk 450ml then bring to boil, whisking all the time until its thicken then stir in 50g cheese season to taste then stir in your cook pasta & mix well.
Pour your mince sauce into a large gratin dish & top with the mixed pasta & sauce. sprinkle over the another 50g of cheese & 2tbsp of parmesan cheese & bake for 20-2mins until bubbling & golden ( oven @ 200C, gas mark 6).
Next : not suitable for human consumption :-

Recipe how to cook rice
it does not matter whether you use basmati or long grain rice.
I use microwave to cook my rice ( if you use pot you will know that it is quite hard to remove the rice that stuck at the bottom of the pot).
Wash your rice as usual in a pyrex or similar bowl, once the rice are clean top up tap water, flatten the rice lightly so that it is level, now measure the water using your middle finger, touching the rice lightly & the water has to be same line as your 2nd finger lines (turn your finger over & you will know what I mean). Put in microwave for 15 minutes (do not cover the bowl ) once it beeps take it out stir it, if you think its lack of some water by all means top up a bit more and then you must cover the bowl up & put it back in micro for another 5 mins & its cooked. You will get a perfect rice once it is cooked. This are based on 1.5 cups using your normal tea mug or 3 cups using proper teacup.
If you have 5/6 adults to feed then you will double the rice (depends on how much they like their rice) & the water measurement will be based on your wrist ( put your hand level in the rice bowl & lightly touching the rice) water has to be reaching your wrist knuckle. cook for 20 minutes once beeps, take out stir & cover up & cook another 5 mins.
No more sticky/hard pot to wash!;)RIP my dear dear parent : Mum aged 62 (17/5/1990) & Dad aged 89 (23/1/2012)0 -

Or you could use a rice cooker....you can still get rice cookers I've seen them in John Lewis, for around £11.99)..
Yes BS, but not unless you are a regular rice chomper :rotfl: then it is worth buying rice cooker but we only have rice once a week. and rice cooker is bulky & take up space if you have a small kitchen. Pyrex - multi use.:D
Possible coupon, cannot remember whether this has been posted : oops just had a look at 1st page & it's already there - sorry Sher - I don't look @ 1st page as I read this thread everyday . Yorkshire Tea : http://www.yorkshiretea.co.uk/#/sample
