    Hi all,
We got back home yesterday! :T
...well over a thousand quid out of pocket at the mo (borrowed from relatives) - will be reading Martin's article and complaining to Monarch asap about leaving us out on the street to starve.

Thanks for everyone's kind words, the holiday itself was great but...glad to be back!

Good morning all, and welcome back CM

Glad you got home in the end, you will need another holiday to get over all the upset. Hope the kids are OK

Just returned from Tesco having been trouted. Selected a nice you man at the checkout but supervisor came along and moved me. SA was very chatty to start with until I produced my coupons and then her face went sour. She went through each one with a fine toothcomb rejecting most for one reason or another. When it came to the Dove she called the supervisor over who explained that I could only use 1 coupon against 2 products as it was BOGOF so I took the second coupon back to use next time. The annoying thing is that when I got home and checked my receipt she had not scanned the coupon at all - so for me that was £2.79 lost and had to pay £2.00 for two deodorants that I didn't really need!

The only coupon showing on my receipt was for £0.50 (against a £55 shop) so not very productive!:(

The same thing happened to me with the Dove mens shower gel, I gave the SA 4 coupons for 4 gels and she only put 2 through for some odd reason. Do what I did, take them back.

Was annoyed but as felt childish wanted to get my own back in some way.

Welcome home!!!! Hubby and I were just talking about your predicament with Monarch and I think they will lose business if they don't reimburse the people that were stranded. I know I would never fly with them after what they put you through so how many other people will feel the same as me?!! Too bad you weren't stuck in the States, they were well looked after. One guy was saying they put them up in a hotel, gave them food vouchers and $10 a day. I was telling Hubby that even if they hadn't put them up in hotels there would be Americans that would have offered to put people up in their homes. Europe and I hate to say the UK have bad attitudes, "I'm alright Jack, screw you" which is the main reason why I've go off living here. But anyway, I'm glad you and your family got home safely!!
