Hi all,
Long story short. My ex partner decided to take a screwdriver to my car causing it to need a full respray. I had her arrested and she was cautioned for criminal damage.
I now want her to pay for the damage she has done on my vehicle.
Am i right in saying i should send her a letter requesting the amount in full first? Giving her 14 days to pay. Is there a sample letter anywhere?
Am i also right in saying that if there is no response within 14 days then i need to send another letter of "before court action" stating that the money should be paid within 14 days or it will go to court thus incurring charges and interest etc...?
Then, if no response or no agreement, i should proceed with the claim?
I'm on Income-based ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) and i should get the court fees wavered?
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
