Hey folks, me again!
Got a phonecall from my old debt management company Gemstone Finance who have offered (for a fee, of course) to assist me with my bankruptcy.
Now, common sense tells me that i shouldnt pay them for something i can do myself but the guy suggested that my bankruptcy is more likely to succeed and be more credible if his company do it on my behalf. He also said that he would "make sure" that i didnt have to contribute any of my income to the bankrupcy.
Also, it would mean that i wouldnt have to face up to my creditors as he would do that.
I guess part of me feels like i would be safer if i used the company, what are your thoughts everyone?

BR's don't fail.
They can only possibly fail if it turns out that you are not insolvent or you are not understanding of the process and what it means. And he cannot "make sure" you do not pay an IPA; he can only guarantee this if he lies - or rather you lie as you are the one completely responsible. You are allowed certain expenses in a BR; it's not all bread and water you know!
And you don't contact your creditors either, so there is no facing them. The OR does that; you tell them to bog off once you are BR!

Thanks for that, me worrying over nothing yet again! lol!
They are very manipulative right enough, he told me that if i did the work myself then there was a significant chance that it would be unsuccessful.
just trying to make me doubt myself i think .. and it worked for a minute there!

We are all pretty successful on here and I don't know of anyone who paid someone else to do it.
Spend the money on something far more interesting. Like one of those naked butlers for example......................................
It would be a long train trip, but I would be willing to make the sacrifice to come and help you keep him busy!0 -
LOL!
that would look great on my bank statement wouldnt it!
imagine me trying to justify that one, maybe say it was for medicinal purposes? lol!

I have had help from the CAB and have completed the forms myself, any questions I had i could phone the BR telephone number and they helped with all my questions, even gave me the telephone number for the court i needed to submit the forms to. The number is: 0845 602 9848 and you can get the forms from insolvency.gov.uk/forms/forms.htm
I hope that helps0 -
